May 2021 sees the 70th anniversary of Moot Hall opening as a museum dedicated to John Bunyan. We are looking for ideas of ways in which we can celebrate this - contact Clive Arnold, the curator of Moot Hall, if you think of something.
Also, at the end of 2021, leading into 2022, we also start hitting several Bunyan-related 350th anniversary dates:
Bunyan was called as a minister of the church in 1761;
He was released from prison in 1762.
The Declaration of Indulgence (which allowed freedom of worship) came about in March 1672; The barn in Mill Street was licensed, as place of worship, in May 1672;
The site that became Bunyan Meeting was purchased in August 1672.
Any ideas, please do contact the Bunyan museum curator, or the curator of Moot Hall.
